On 14 February 1944 was a side gunner on B-17 A/C #42-31893 “Busy Bee”.
He and Thomas Jarman on February 14, 1944 replaced Sergeants William O. Ogle and William C. Fannin, original members of Lieutenant Bond’s crew. Higgins was instead an original member of Lt. Midura’s crew.
